4th of July Ice Cream Cupcakes

Very simple recipe to do with cake mix, icing and ice cream cones. This can be done for birthday parties or just for a regular summer dessert.

What you would do is follow the directions on the back of the cake box to make the cake batter. You can use confetti cake mix or another cake mix that you want to represent the colors for the 4th. Line the cupcake pan with cupcake liners or spray the pan with cooking spray. Pour about 2/3 of batter into each cupcake section of the pan.

With the ice cream cones, turn them upside down on each section so that the batter will bake into them. I also place aluminum foil over the top of the cones so that the bottoms won't burn.



Allow the cupcakes to bake for the time shown on the cake box. Once they have cooled, you can easily pull off the paper and decorate. When I did this recipe, I didn't ice the cupcakes until everyone was ready to eat them and they could choose their sprinkles or have no sprinkles on them. These were devoured quickly, but here is the what they would have looked like and I got this recipe idea from Aldi's website.
